Pink and More Pink with Patter

Okay, so pink is my favorite color. For today's inspiration, I decided to go with a pink theme. Let's look at what I've created.

Pink
I love this quote"You can never have too much pink." So, I decided to use that on my art journal page for today. I first started with a lot of Blue Fern Garden paper scraps. I, of course, chose mostly the pink scraps. I then layered them on the page with other scraps of paper. Here is a photo of what the page looked like when I started and layered on the Blue Fern Garden scraps. Sorry for the dark photo.

And here is how the art journaling page turned out:

I used Blooming Flourish chipboard pieces and painted them with different colors of acrylic paint. I also added the chipboard to the page before adding paint splatters so that the chipboard pieces would also got some white and black splatters on them.

Hello
For this card, I decided to stick with the pink theme. I used the Blue Fern Garden Calling Cards paper. I started by using my Gelli Plate with acrylic paint to add some more color. Then I embossed the same piece of paper after it had dried. After that, I began layering the paper and embellishments to finish the card.

The chipboard piece I used is called Jeweled Trinkets. I covered it in pink acrylic paint. Then I added a layer of texture paint to the bow portion of the chipboard to set it off a bit.

Celebrate
And I know this isn't pink but I wanted to share in detail the 8 1/2 x 11 layout I created for the July Sketch Challenge. This was one of my daughter's on her graduation day, and as you can imagine, she was excited. I used sketch as well as the new Blue Fern Studios paper line called Ombre Dreams.

The chipboard stars are new from Blue Fern  Studios, and they are called "Seeing Stars." I painted the stars with gesso and let them dry. Once dry, I painted with three LuminArte paint colorscool water, navajo pearl, and lime squeeze. I then let that dry, and lastly I stamped on top of the stars.

Here I painted the title "The big day" with acrilic and spray ink and put some glitter. The "Berry Stems" i painted with distress ink and put liquid pearl in the dots.

The little camera I colored with black pen and put some colorless relief.

Again I colored the film strip with black pen.

July Projects with Erin Blegen

Good morning! Erin Blegen here today to share with you my July projects. I've created a variety for you today, so let's get started!

"Very Best of Times"
I've combined here a variety of Blue Fern chipboard and paper amidst some background work. I really loved this photo of my daughter and wanted something pretty yet fun and simple all at the same time. The fun color palette of the Ombre Dreams paper combined with the lovely chipboard pieces that I chose really helped to accomplish that :)

This "Lace Rounds" piece was simply stamped with a pastel yellow chalk ink from Prima. I left some of the detailed bits unpunched from the chipboard.

I thought that this frame from the "Memory Frames" set worked out just great for this page. I painted it with pastel yellow acrylic paint, then stamped with clear embossing ink, added some pastel pink embossing powder and set with a heat gun. Above and below my frame I added one of the "Jeweled Trinkets" pieces (cut in half) and added some gems and other embellishments to add a little more interest.

"Dare to be Yourself"
For this card I used some bits and pieces that I had of chipboard. It was a fun way to put them to good use- and all they needed was a random splatter of gesso!

"Overjoyed"

Finally, I have a tag to share. I've taken another of the "Lace Rounds" pieces and misted it with a Prima Color Bloom spray mist. Then, while wet, added white embossing powder and set with a heat gun. For the large "Tattered Butterflies" piece, I applied microbeads and seed beads using glossy accents.

That's it for me! Thanks so much for coming by for a peek :)

July colours with Jelissa

Hello friends!

I'm in today to share two projects I've created for Blue Fern Studios, using the Ombre Dreams paper collection, as well as their beautiful chipboard pieces.

Lucky

My first project is a layout of my two boys.

I've used Charlotte's Dream from the Ombre Dreams collection as my background paper and added some misting, masking with texture paste and random stamping to further highlight the beautiful watercolor effects already printed on the paper itself. I also used a cut out from Dream Cards as a subtitle.

The "Lucky" chippie from Charmed Page Dangles was cut into two pieces and the word used as my title. I did some heat embossing in black and smeared purple dimensional paint over for highlight.

The other half of the chipboard was first colored with gelato, followed by some stamping with Versamark and heat-embossing.

I used only one piece of the Honeycomb bits here, but snipped it into three parts which I layered throughout my page. It was first misted followed by random sprinkling with a mauve-tinted embossing powder.

All Dressed Up

My second project is a mixed media canvas I made as a birthday gift for a very talented friend who runs her own fashion designing label.

When I saw the Sweetheart dress form, I knew it was meant for her and there is also a similar mannequin on display in her office reception.

The chipboard was covered with gesso and I made a dress out of some organza curtain fabric, which I decorated with some tulle and organza roses, aqua sequins and mini paper roses. I also snipped the Majestic Frame in half and covered it with gold glitter.

My little cluster here is full of bits from the Miss Tailor set. I covered the spool with a fine layer of gold shimmer. The buttons I used Liquid Pearls and for the scissors I used my gold textured paste. The other half of the majestic frame is tucked beneath the flowers and also dipped in gold glitter.

That's all I have for today. Do check back soon for more inspiration from the rest of the lovely DT!
