May Inspirations by Jennifer Jacques

Hi all Blue Fern Studios fans!
It's Jennifer here, with my 3 layouts as May inpsirations!

First of all, I'll start the month with a layout with "Happy Accident".

I choose to work with "Lucky" paper as my background.
I added a bit of texture paste through a stencil and displayed my picture on a die cut doilie.  You can see in the clustering below that I also tucked in two pieces of Checker bits chipboard that I have embossed with the Honey embossing powder.

My chipboard title is from the Remnants collection and here, this is the Sunlight Rose embossing powder that I've chose to embossed with.  You'll see underneath the Fern Leaves embossed with Green Ivory embossing powder.  Did you see the beautiful lilies from the Wanderlust Lilies set? They really are my favorite Blue Fern flowers. On the next corner, the white flower is from Homespun blossoms set :)

Below, I've made some ornements out of velum paper with the Texture circles stamp and Ivory embossing powder.  I've put together one clustering on each side of my focal point with
Apricot blooms and some stuff from my own stash.

So, here is the list of the products I've used on that layout

Second layout with In the moods collection.

This time, this is B-side of "Dreamy" paper that is my background.  Clear gesso, some sprays as watercolor effect and texture paste through a stencil again.  You can see below that I've displayed my picture on a piece of Mémoire "post cards" paper.

On the left of my picture, there is some chipboards.  The Flutter page dangles is embossed with Stormy skies, a beautiful blue-grey color.  Really love that metallic effect.  Right on the background, a Petite boutique Frame which is colored with some wax.

Here. my title is a piece from  Remnants collection chipboard that I've cut to use only the word "You".  I've tried very hard to show you the beautiful color of Vintage Jade glitter but I've failed.  It's magnificent, believe me! 💙💚  Again, some beautiful lilies from Wanderlust set.

Here, a Christmas blooms, with a pearl in her center.
Some sequins, flair and love quotes from my stash.
Finally, to add some texture, some Silver seedlings  in different spots and some stamping with Tattered Newsprint stamp and permanent ink.

Finally, my last layout with In the mood again.

A soft layout, with "Amused" paper as the background.  No mixed media here.

The tag on the left was cut out of "Blissful" b-side paper.    My title, from the French words set is embossed with the delicate and sooooooo gorgeous  Pixie Dust embossing powder.  My set up is displayed on a big piece of a chipboard panel (which is no longer available, sorry!) that I've simply paint in black for a dramatic effect.

On the right, chipboard flower was simply stained in black and colored with wax.

Finally, to ornate the lower corner of my picture, Blue Fern Studios flowers :)
The white one is from Christmas blooms (but I've replaced the center to match my layout), the pink one is from Garden Blooms (here, I've put a pearl in the middle) and, the black one, a beautiful Dark Tropic lilies... A piece of "Pensive" paper in the upper right corner :)

It's a minimalist layout so I finished with some flairs and love quotes and that was it!

Here is the products I've used on that layout this time

 Papers: Collection In the mood
-Blissful (b-side)
-Pensive (b-side)

Embossing Powder

July inspiration by Tartine Peluche

Hi everyone!
I'm back to share with you my new layouts of month.

My first one is :

The young woman was silent ...

For this layout I have to work in layer, several paper of the collection Happy Accident,
a few paper cut and my chipboards.
I used Fortuity paper.
First my background is very simple a little cheese cloth here and there and some stamping with Serendipity medley and Grungy grid stamp.
In the foreground the title "Story" embossed with the embossing powder "Copper".
Under this one a chipboard of the kit "Spring Trinkets" embossed with Snow embossing powder, I then sprinkled with brilliant Burnt Copper.
On both sides of the title, the chipboard ginger's poppies embossed with Pink Dust embossing powder.
Which I cut in two and placed on two different layers under the photo
Under the top of the picture, we find part of the chipboard Holiday Deer
( No one said that deer live only in winter ... ;) But I removed the snowflakes from the chipboard.
I cut the chipboard so as to keep that central part for the top of my photo
the other two pieces of the chipboard are layered under the flowers on the right side of the photo.
I embossed them with Oatmeal embossing powder and distressed with light brown ink pad.
If we look again on the left side of the picture we find one of the kit chipboards Petite Boutique Frames.
I embossed it with the powder "Snow" then I made a crackle treatment and then I added pink ink to bring out the cracks.
Then I glued a piece of lace to the back.
I also used two deer from the kit "winter deer" I also embossed them with Oatmeal embossing powder and distresser with light brown ink pad.
I used small pink flowers from Courtship Roses kit.

Here is a few close ups:

My two others layouts featuring Garden Life paper

Capture life's moments

For the first of two, I used Felicity paper.
This background is a little more sophisticated than the first.
I started by creating my texture then I played with ink and stamps.
I really like the attached letter writing of "Serendipity Medley"stamp.
I used it with a black ink to create contrast.
Then with the chipboard "Shabby Brick Bits" I added a little more texture to my background.
I embossed it with "Snow" and applied a thin layer of blue opalescent paint.

To embellish my photo, I always opt for layers of paper, thus creating depth to my creation.
Between the different layers I added here, my flowers.
The daisy comes from the kit "Attic Charms Daisy" the roses come from the kit "Garden Blooms"
If you look on either side of my photo, I used a peony from the kit "Chesterville Blooms" that I cut in half.

As journaling for my layout I used few printed chipboards from Garden life
and "inspiration" come from Happy Accident printed chipboard.

Have you seen the new Rose Leaves chipboards? I love them! Here I painted them in green.
In the lower right corner of my page, there is a flower, normally white from Heartland Blossoms kit ...
A happy accident made him fall into my ink ... and became like that ... I find her pretty!

I kept the best for the end ... my butterflies! (Royal Monarchs)
First of all, I put white gesso, after I used two different inks, one green and one gold.
Then I made some white splash with gesso.
With a piece of lace that I inked with the same ink as my background,
I stuck to the back of my butterflies. I really like the result!
So, you know everythings ...

And some close ups:

Blossom Story

For this layout I've not did mixed media background.
I just played with the paper ... I cut it,  torn it, and distressed it.

I started with the paper "Flower Bed" which I drew the flowers with black pencil.
Each of the flowers one after the other ... I spent the day ...
I've used almost all the paper in entire.
Each of the cut parts placed on different layers under my photo.

My title "story" is embossed in white and then half of the top is embossed in purple.
I used Snow and Lavender Eggs embossing powder.

Butterflies are stamped on a paper of "Spring Parade / May Vignettes"
I used "Bourbon Street" and "Spring Accents" stamps

The "Looped Frames" and "Quatrefoil Panel" chipboards are simply embossed in white with Snow  embossed powder.
The small piece from Quatrefoil Panel is embossed with Baby Pink embossing powder.
I also added chipboard Leafed Bough that I cut into several pieces. I painted this one in green.

I used several yellow flowers of the kit "Garden Blooms" but I removed the central
part of the flowers to keep only the petal of the bottom.

See my close ups for all details.

June Inspiration with Karolina

Hi Blue Fern Studio's fans! It's Karolina here. Today I would like to show you my June's projects I made using our latest collection Attic Charm.

Paris Paris

Let's start with my first layout with beautiful view of the Paris and Eiffel tower.

I started my work on the choice of photo and paper... It's always a most difficult step of the work ;)
When I was planning my composition I realized I would like to add something interesting accent on my background. So I took another paper I tore it to the stripe. Then I put everything together and I knew it was a very good idea. I added some chipboard pieces, some flowers and medias and that' all! I really like this page, hope you too :)

I covered all  chipboards (except a frame) with using metallic paint in a copper color. A frame I covered with using a turquoise chalk ink.

Papers: Calling Cards, Curio, Generation, Sachet, Haberdashery, Spring Posy
Chipboard: Film Strips, Memory frames, Petite Boutique Frames
Stamps: Forever,

Capture the moment

My second layout is definitely in a marine style. The idea for this work was born a year ago, but I was waiting for a good opportunity ;) First I used a clear gesso on my based paper, then I took unprimed canvas and cut out the sail. I built my whole composition on the top of the sail and I added some marine embellishments like a chain, steering wheels, a net. Finally I added a title using beautiful chipboard - "Capture the Moment". I covered a chipboards with using "seven seas" embossing powder. So everything is matching perfectly ;)

Papers: Curio, Generation, Sachet, Haberdashery, Spring Posy
Chipboard: Capture Words
Embossing powder: Seven Seas
Glitter: Caribbean, Gulf Coast
Stamps: Forever, Halftone,

Wedding cards

Attic Charm collection is very soft and romantic so it will be perfect for all you shabby projects. I prapered two very delicate cards for a wedding to show you how beautiful these papers are. I hope I succeeded.

Papers: Curio, Sachet, Mercantile, Calling Cards, Haberdashery, Spring Posy

Thanks for visiting the blog, see you soon in July!
